balancing bodies and cable ties

Hi all!
I am curious as to how the bodies of the should should be ideally balanced weight wise. Also, I am not a big fan of the cable ties. I like to tuck the ends in, but on most of the bodies I find it hard to do as I cannot get that cable into the channel, it just is too tight. If the cables are cut, it leaves a sharp area which is not good either. Any suggestions out there?
